Today IDH launched together with SNV and international pangasius traders Binca, DKSH, Femeg, Mayonna, Nordic Seafood, Queens and Seafood Connection, the ASC Accelarator. The Accelerator will help pangasius farmers in Vietnam to comply faster to ASC standards, by preparing business plans and sharing costs of technical assistance and capacity building. The Accelerator is supported by WWF, the Vietnamese government and VASEP and Vinafis.

ASC label launched!
Today, the ASC's consumer label for responsibly farmed seafood was launched! The on-pack label will make it easy for consumers to make a conscious choice to purchase responsibly farmed seafood. IDH and WWF have set up and supported ASC to create market demand for responsible aquaculture. After almost three years of hard work the label is here, and responsibly farmed fish will soon be on the shelves of supermarkets!

Under the IDH umbrella, four large international coffee roasters – Nestlé, Kraft, Tchibo, and Sara Lee (accounting for 30% of world sales) – are starting a, pre-competitive, and ambitious program aimed at driving worldwide sustainable coffee sales from the current 8% to 25% by 2015. This will bring sustainability to a mainstream level.
