To strengthen its Operations team IDH is recruiting a hands-on Financial Controller (36-40 hours p/w).  As the Financial Controller you are part of the Operations team. You will report directly to the Head of Finance and work together closely with the other Finance colleagues.  The Financial Controller is responsible for solid financial administration, financial internal and external reporting, the audit and the internal control framework in IDH.

The job encompasses accounting, reporting and coordination components.

IDH is looking for an energetic, resourceful and hands-on character who can find the perfect balance between controlling and supporting. You have a background in financial accounting, planning and control. You have at least 5 years work experience in a similar position.



  • Corporate cost reporting, budgeting and control
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, specifications and corrective journal entries
  • Audit planning & coordination
  • Set up and maintain internal control system
  • Country reporting, budgeting and control
  • Personnel cost allocation calculations
  • Consolidated program reporting

Depending on future developments, the job may include:

  • Support in program control



  • Working and thinking at least at ‘HBO’ level with a qualification in financial accounting
  • At least 5 years of work experience, preferably in a similar organization
  • Experience with MS Excel and Exact Globe (desirable)
  • Fluent in English and preferably Dutch
