IDH is looking for an experienced Product Owner to oversee the development and management of our Salary Matrix tool, a key component in our mission to close living wage gaps in supply chains. As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for translating needs of the various stakeholders of the tool into improvements in our product. This means you will gather feature requests in the product backlog, help communicate them to the development team, support the development team in organized sprint planning, and ensure success and development in the tool is aligned with strategic goals.

To be successful in this role, you must have experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role in product management, as well as a strong handle on Scrum. Strong organizational and communication skills are also required, as is the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently gather and prioritize stakeholder needs and potential improvements by managing working groups with users/stakeholders and by engaging with internal and external stakeholders such as private sector companies, verification schemes and producers
  • Prioritize development backlog and translate needs into description of needed tool functionality/user stories, further engage stakeholders to fully understand needs
  • Support development team to set sprint goals to ensure on-time product delivery
  • In the event of bugs and product issues, make strategic decisions about urgency of issues versus planned development
  • Analyse product performance and customer feedback to improve the product over time
  • Communicate developments and progress to internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the overall improvement of the tool
  • Own and maintain all materials related to the tool such as documentation or the tool’s principals, creation of demo materials, guidance documentation for users, etc.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience & knowledge as a Digital Product Manager or similar role, confident in leading a team through the scrum process
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholder groups and organize, sort and prioritize opinions into concrete tool development ideas and ask questions to ensure understanding
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Affinity with PowerBI, Front-End Javascript Framework (Angular), Node.js, PostgreSQL database or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) a plus.
  • Curiosity and motivation to learn about Living Wage and social sustainability reporting Initiatives
  • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned
  • Fluent in English, Knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese and/or French is a plus
