Your role.
As Program Officer you will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Raizes da Caatinga program.
This role involves providing operational support, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring efficient program execution in alignment with organisational goals.
You will support the delivery of our territorial development program in the Caatinga on climate resilience, innovative finance, and responsible resource use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the Raizes da Caatinga program
- Management of projects (co-fundings) in accordance with IDH policies, procedures and funder requirements, including contract management, financial administration, data collection and analysis, and reporting
- Support Program Manager on M&E reporting and analysis and ongoing progress tracking of key data points, together with the M&E team
- Support Program Manager on convening public and private actors on the program
- Supporting the Program Manager
- Review of activities, budgets, and daily financial administration
- Content creation, incl. preparing presentations, newsletters, website articles, and factsheets, in collaboration with the IDH communication team.
- Convening meetings, events, and workshops between IDH and its partners, including taking responsibility for meeting logistics and note-taking

In managing data for co-funding projects, you ensure operational procedures comply with IDH structures, maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity. You skilfully navigate relationships with local PPI compact stakeholders, fostering cooperation and alignment with project goals.
You are quick to understand new ideas and concepts, bringing a self-motivated attitude to all tasks. Your alignment with IDH’s goals and organisational culture drives your commitment where you thrive in a dynamic environment such as IDH.
What you bring:
- Experience of working in the field and with family farming production
- Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant working experience. (International team experience is a plus).
- Experience in project management & financial administration & project budgeting
- Knowledge of/strong interest in project management / sustainability / climate smart agriculture / family farming
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially a very good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
We offer you
- A salary range matching your expectations based on the job level. This is evaluated based on IDH’s methodology; the successful candidate will be placed within the range depending on relevant work experience. The selection process is conducted, applying STAR interview methodology.
- A full-time (40 hours) 1 year service agreement, with the intention to extend.
