Under Malawi Tea 2020, a price discovery model is developed which aims to give clarity on sustainable procurement practices in the tea industry. The Model reveals to what extent buyers need to pay an additional contribution to producers, in order to assist them in attaining the payment of living wages to the industry workers. During the 2017 Annual Progress Meeting (APM), a buyer and producer session identified the need to conduct 2 feasibility studies on the distribution mechanism of the additional wage payment, either being horizontal (spreading additional value equally across the Malawi tea workforce) or vertical (potential differentiated wage payments in the Malawian tea industry). Find the terms of reference for the vertical value distribution feasibility study attached here and navigate to the horizontal value distribution feasibility study via this link.
IDH requests interested consultants to submit their proposal by January 5, 2018 in accordance with the Terms of Reference.
