Value chain analysis for cash crops in Southern Chad

The market assessment and value chain analysis conducted in Southern Chad identified eight alternative cash crops, namely Sorghum, Maize, Groundnut, Shea, Sesame, Rice, Millet, and Fonio. In-depth profiles were developed for each crop to determine their viability in creating viable agricultural value chains. After careful analysis, the top three crops that emerged as having the most market potential, potential to establish links, enabling environment, and prospects for women were Sesame, Shea, and Groundnut.
