On January 21, 2016, the Vice Director of Vietnam Environmental Protection Fund (VEPF) Ms. Duong Thi Phuong Anh and IDH Program Director, Ted van der Put signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote sustainable land and water resource management.
The focus areas of the MoU are the Central Highlands provinces and the downstream provinces of Dong Nai River Basin (including Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan).
The overall goal of VEPF is to provide financial support for environmental projects in Vietnam. Financial support will be provided to encourage further upscaling of pilot models developed under the ISLA framework in the Central Highlands.
The two organizations will promote sustainable land and water resource management through water-saving and soil conservation technologies, agrochemical disposal and treatment and establishment of a Trust Fund to finance environmental protection and sustainable landscape development projects.
