Key civil society antagonist fames Cocoa and Forest Initiative

1 Dec 2017 Mighty Earth, a global campaign organization, critical of the possible company and Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana government consensus on forest protection has bravely acknowledged the accomplishments of IDH, WCF and ISU and others in reaching the solid Joint Frameworks for Action.

These Frameworks spell out concrete actions to eliminate deforestation in the cocoa supply chain.

CEO of Might Earth, Glenn Hurowitz has said in an article published on their website: “This initiative has been a model of civil society working together with governments, donors and companies to drive very rapid progress for a whole industry, and we’re proud to have played a role”.

Over the last weeks we’ve seen companies, governments and others show pride for what has been achieved in the Frameworks for Action. As a public-private facilitator of change, IDH is thrilled that all stakeholders involved are claiming their victory. Our work is at its best when all stakeholders feel the outcomes of a convening are in their best interests.
