Launch of the Beyond Chocolate & GISCO Online Reporting Tool

Beyond Chocolate and the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa (GISCO) would like to invite all reporting partners to the launch of their online reporting tool and first joint monitoring round.

  • When? April 28th, 1pm-4pm CET (see agenda for stakeholder-specific break-out groups)
  • Where? Webex Meetings , Meeting Password: fFmjRQqm487
  • For whom? All reporting partners of Beyond Chocolate and GISCO

In light of their Memorandum of Understanding, the National Initiatives on Sustainable Cocoa in Europe (or ISCO’s) have been harmonizing monitoring frameworks. As such, they have agreed on common indicators to monitor and report on the four main challenges in the cocoa sector. Beyond Chocolate and GISCO are now bringing this newly developed common monitoring framework into practice. The two platforms have synchronized monitoring cycles and have together commissioned the development of a joint online reporting tool. The tool will be launched during a joint event on April 28th, 2021

The event will give partners all the needed information to complete the reporting. During the first part of the event, the platforms will shed light on all relevant aspects surrounding the joint monitoring tool in detail and present the joint monitoring process. As requested by partners, the data confidentiality of the monitoring system will be an important topic of the event. The second part of the event will consist of break-out sessions per stakeholder group during which the platforms will guide each group separately through the tool and the parts of the reporting that are characteristic for them. There will also be a session on the project questionnaire for partners who will report on projects/programs they are implementing.

* Please note that for Beyond Chocolate this session is only mandatory for sustainability standards (Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance) and programs (Cocoa Horizons for Barry Callebaut, Cacao-Trace for Puratos Belcolade, Cocoa Promise for Cargill and Cocoa Life for Mondelez.) accepted by the partnership. Reporting on other sustainability projects is welcomed, but optional.
