The Race to the Top program of IDH in Vietnam (apparel) is working with the Vietnamese Government, through the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment, to contextualize the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals guidelines, which guide industry in moving away for utilizing and discharging hazardous chemicals, in Vietnam.
The project, which as of this week will run for one year, is an example of the international best practices the Race to the Top program brings to Vietnam and rolls out to the local industry. The project will provide insights in the performance of the apparel and footwear industry in order to deepen the understanding of the need for support for Vietnamese factories in terms of capacity building, as well as inform the Ministry while working on a new act to protect the environment from hazardous chemicals.
