GSMA AgriTech’s Digital Agriculture Maps report

The GSMA AgriTech’s Digital Agriculture Maps report (DAMs), produced in collaboration with IDH Farmfit, offers a snapshot into the digital agriculture landscape in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).

Digital agriculture tools have emerged to mitigate the challenges faced by smallholder farmers, including low productivity and income, financial exclusion, and climate change. Digital agriculture is also enabling other actors in agricultural value chains, from agribusinesses to cooperatives, to increase efficiencies in the agricultural last mile.

The range of digital agriculture solutions is broad, from services disseminating generic voice and text-based advisory to farmers on feature phones, to high-tech tools that use sensor data and analytics to automate farm operations. DAMs provides an in-depth analysis of digital agriculture use cases – digital advisories, digital financial services, agri e-commerce, digital procurement, and smart farming – and looks at the trends behind the evolution of the sector in the past 10 years.

DAMs was created for industry practitioners and potential investors, to help them understand key trends and emerging opportunities in the sector. It encourages innovation and adoption of best practices to support scalable and sustainable services.
