As part of a Dutch trade mission to Indonesia in November, IDH moderated a discussion on sustainable palm oil with among others Minister Lukita (Min. of Trade of Indonesia) and Minister Ploumen (Min. for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands) as well as Chinese trade delegates.
Topics included the strengthening of the dialogue between Indonesia, the Netherlands and China, the support for an inclusive extension platform targeting independent smallholders, innovative financing for production-protection and smallholders in the journey toward sustainability, and progressive jurisdictions led by Governors/Bupatis in creating sustainable sourcing areas/supply sheds/landscapes.
